2. Data collection on this website

This website is operated as a static site without tracking or analytics services. When pages are accessed, the hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, time of access) to deliver the website. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website).

Form submissions (booking request and admin login) are checked using the “Cloudflare Turnstile” bot protection (Cloudflare, Inc.). Turnstile runs without cookies and without any user interaction; Cloudflare processes technical data (including IP address and browser characteristics) to detect automated access. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (protection against spam and abuse).

3. Booking enquiries

When you send us a booking enquiry via the form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, phone number, requested apartment, dates, message) in order to handle your enquiry and make you a personal offer. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR) by submitting the form.

The data is sent to us by email and stored in a database (Cloudflare D1). Enquiries are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed, at the latest 6 months after the decision or 12 months after the requested period has ended.

Email is sent from and received in our mailbox at GMX (1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, Montabaur, Germany). Messages addressed to info@mazzola-sizilien.it are received by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc.) and forwarded to that mailbox. Processing takes place in the EU. 4. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies. In the administration area, a session cookie is set exclusively for login purposes; this area is not intended for guests.

5. External links

Our pages link to booking portals (e.g. booking.com, FeWo-direkt, Airbnb). The data processing on these platforms is governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection regarding your personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact the controller named above for this purpose.

7. Google Calendar (transfer of confirmed bookings)

Once your booking enquiry is confirmed, the data you provided (name, email address, accommodation, dates) is automatically created as a calendar entry in the Mazzola family's calendar. For this we use the Google Calendar API of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and its parent company Google LLC, USA. Access uses a server-side token; you are never redirected to Google for this.

The purpose of this processing is the management of occupancy and the avoidance of double bookings. Legal bases: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (performance of the booking contract) and Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in reliable calendar management). The calendar entries remain in the calendar beyond the booking period and are deleted by us as soon as they are no longer needed.

For the transfer of personal data to the USA, the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework apply, for which Google LLC is certified. More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Google Maps

On the apartment detail pages we embed maps from Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited). A map is only loaded once you click it – until then no data is transferred to Google. On that click Google processes data such as your IP address and, where applicable, location data in order to display the map; any attribution to you occurs only in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
